Do you think you have lost in life and burried in the problems, debt or sickness? Nobody cares for you? God is always looking for you. He loves you so much. Bible describes three parables to explain how much God loves us. Where ever you are today, God loves you and searching for you.
When I was a small boy, I used to visit my grand mother’s house and watch regularly Shepherds taking the sheep for grazing in the morning and taking them back to their pen in the evening. The sheep copy each other while walking. If one sheep jumps rest of the sheep jumps at the same place without even reasoning, why the other sheep jumped. Can the sheep get lost, when they follow each other with such an accuracy? Sheep have high probability of getting lost, when they are chased by predators as the sheep never fights and they solely depend on their instinct to flee from predators. Once they are lost they get scared so much their heart rate increases. There are modern techniques being planned to detect sheep’s safety by monitoring their heart rate in developed countries.
Jesus shared the parable of lost sheep to express his concern and care for the people who are scared, worried, oppressed, running away from life, due to its hardship and afflictions and wandered off from the path of truth. He finds great joy in reaching out to them, rescuing them and caring for them. Heaven rejoices once the soul is redeemed. Are you in one of these situations? God is reaching out to you, if only you could accept and allow him to take care of you. He is the one knocking your door. Are you ready to open door and welcome him?
Jesus continued on with the next parable. This came in different flavor in the form of lost coin. A women loses one out of 10 silver coins. She lights the lamp, sweeps her home and search for it intently, till she finds it. God is in the ministry of hunting for the lost souls. He hunts, searches and never stops till he finds those, who are addicted to substances, caught in the nets of prostitution and people who think they don’t have any hope in life. Are you in one of these situations and think nobody cares for you? Jesus Christ died for you and paid the price to redeem you independent of where you are, who you are and what you have done.
“But now I will send for many fishermen,” declares the Lord, “and they will catch them. After that I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks. – Jeremiah 16:16
Its about a son, who wants his father’s inheritance and property to be divided, so that he can enjoy his life. After losing all the money in a most foolish way, he decides to come back to his father and be his servant. His father though was waiting for him every day, looking forward to his return. In the culture of eastern world, most respectable people neither run nor show their emotion in public. But the father did not care for his respect before his servants. When he saw his son in the distance, he ran towards him with compassion and hugged him. While the son was explaining how unworthy he is, father has no time to waste. He decorates his son with clothes and gold. Fattened calf was ordered to be killed and the feast was arranged. My son was dead and now he is alive again, declared the father. This is the heart of the father God, who is longing for his son to come back. All those who are lost and all those who lost the privilege of the son-ship are welcome to come back as they are. Are you one of them? Are you ready to go back to the father with the humble and broken heart? God is waiting for you with open arms.
Jesus came to this world to redeem the lost and to give hope for the hopeless. God loves you independent of your difficult past.
