How To Come Out Of Addictions?

Dear Friend, Are you stuck in addiction and struggling to come out of it? It does not matter what is the type of addiction is. Here is the biblical view of how to come out of your addiction. At the end of this message, we would like to pray along with you. Jesus will answer the prayers. He will break the chains of addiction that are binding everyone who is reading this. Jesus loves you. You are His precious child. Jesus traded His life for the sake of our lives and died on the cross for our sake. He sacrificed his life so that we will have the power to break away from our sins.

Addiction and its sources

The first taste of addiction starts as recreation, entertainment, or to satisfy curiosity. For example, addiction to masturbation and pornography arises from the lust of the opposite sex. Gambling might start as fun and a game. Initial wins might force someone to go for further wins. But the losses might soon overcome the initial gains. Many go back to gambling again to recover the money lost. But the gambling machines are programmed in such a way the odds are always against us. Those who are addicted to gambling end up in debt.

Dear friend, if you are stuck in addiction you must find the source of addiction and deal with it immediately. Are you intending to earn more money quickly through gambling? Are you lusting the opposite sex secretly and caught in sexual addiction? Do you think you can find peace by drinking liquor and taking drugs? None of the addictions will ever give peace. The fun will soon end and the pain of addiction will soon take over. Guilty consciousness, debt, and health problems follow as the addiction continues.

God can help us to overcome. The Bible says, "Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt." Yes, my friend the hand of God is powerful enough to lift us up out of the addiction. His ears have not gone dull to hear our prayers. But it is our sins that separate us from God. Jesus can help us if we can deal with the sin that separates us from God.

Leave the Past and Reconcile with Jesus

Dear Friend, God is more powerful than our addictions and bondages. He can release make us free. Bible says if the Son(Jesus) sets you free, you will be free indeed. Jesus wants to set you free today. He wants to forgive the past and release every one of us from all the addiction. He wants to wash the past mistakes with His precious blood and make us a new creation. God can give us the strength to overcome the temptations that are leading us to addiction. Jesus wants us to live a life free from addictions. He wants you to live a peaceful life. Allow Jesus to help you overcome the addictions right now.

Who is our enemy?

Bible says For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

The fight with addiction is never against our own flesh but it is against the rulers and the authorities of evil power which induce us to do things we don't like to do. We have to seek God to help us conquer the temptation. He will equip us with His power so that we can win the battle against the enemy. Any addiction and the associated bondage can be broken with the power of God. The blood of Jesus can release us from all the addictions. Please surrender your life to God. Let Him lead the fight and help you overcome.

We Can not Serve Two Masters

Dear friend, there can not be two masters in our life. We need to choose who is the master. Is it Satan or God? Is it evil powers of this world or the spiritual power of God? Jesus said No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.

Do you want to accept God as your master? If God is our master then we ought to seek His permission before making an important decision in life. If we are God's child no one else can be our master. Let's Chose our master carefully today. Jesus wants to break our bondage and free us from all addictions.

James the brother Jesus wrote So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you. Submit to the authority of Jesus Christ. Make Him your master right away. Resist all the temptations. God will help you to come out of the addiction that you are going through today.

We are going to pray right now. Please place your hand on your heart. May Jesus place His precious hand on top of your hand. Jesus is going to bring in a change in your life today. He will surely hear your prayers. The powerful blood of Jesus is going to break every chain. Believe Him. Let's pray.

Dear Jesus, I have been addicted and not able to come out. Please help me to come out of my addiction. I have made wrong choices in the past. Please wash me with your blood and make me new. You have shed your precious blood to free me from my addictions. Through the power of your precious blood release me and make me new. Your word says Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. Break the bondages I am tied to. Release me from all the chains. Free me from the powers of bondage.

Please help me to come out of the addiction. Nothing is impossible for you. Wash me from all my past sins. Help me to flee from the temptations that are leading to addictions. Be my master. Help me to stay away from the negative thoughts and focus my life on you. Jesus, change my life. Help me to be your child and follow you all my life. I pray in Jesus's precious name, Amen.

Stay away from your Past

Dear friend, stay away from your past. Stay away from the dirty magazine and videos which make you fall into temptations again. Stay away from the group of friends who invite you to enjoy gambling or one more round of drinks. Don't fall into the trap. It will destroy you and pull you back to addiction. Please do remember the blood of Jesus is available for you and he is ready to forgive if you go back to Him with a sincere heart and confess your mistakes. Please do not hesitate to go back to Jesus at any point in time. Jesus said Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Continue to watch over your life and guard your heart. Repeating the same mistakes, again and again, can make us harvest bitter fruits in life. We reap whatever we sow.
