Dear friend, many suffer when they try to carry all their life burdens on themselves. The burden could be about their challenges in their own life or it could be about the situation their close family members or friends are going through. It could be their financial situation, loss of job, addictions, lack of security in life, or any other reason. When people keep their challenges to themselves and live a lonely life, they get into mental illness soon. Some of us do not want to share what we are going through with others. We prefer to isolate ourselves. Feel lonely and all alone. Feel ashamed to share our burdens. During the past few years, when the world has gone through Covid, many went through isolation alone.
We are not designed to carry life's burdens by ourselves. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.“ The God who created us knew us more than anyone else in this world. He knew we can not carry all our life challenges by ourselves. He left an open invitation to all of us. Jesus promises to remove all our burdens away from our hearts and fill us with his heavenly rest, even amid our problems.
What Jesus said can be read easily. It is a very appealing promise and interesting invitation. But we rarely apply it. Most of us are not even willing to open up our life’s problems with God, who created us and already knows our hearts. We allow our cyclic negative thoughts to repeat in our minds. It leads to a deep hurt. How much easier our life will be if we know how to transfer our burdens to God.
Jesus knows our life on earth is difficult. He said, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. “ None of us is going to be free from all the troubles. None of our life is going to be perfect. Hence, the Bible reiterates the importance of casting our burdens to God in much more detail. “Cast all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].“
How to cast our burdens on the Lord?
When Christ was on the cross, he carried all our sorrows and our worries. He carried all our sickness and burdens. Jesus does not want his children to suffer. He wants to carry their burdens on himself. He is our loving heavenly father. The Bible says, “[in fact] He has borne our griefs, And He has carried our sorrows and pains;“ What God has already carried and borne on the cross need not be carried by us.
All that we have to do is go to Jesus and tell him about our problems. Ask Him to fill our lives with peace. He is the greatest counselor, comforter, and peacemaker. He can fill our hearts with heavenly peace. Let’s pray to Jesus and ask Him to fill our lives with peace.
Please place your hand on your heart. Call upon the name of Jesus. Pray the below prayer along with us in your own words. We are praying along with you. Jesus is listening.
Dear Jesus, I come to you with a humble heart. I came to know today you have carried all my sorrows and worries on the cross. I am not able to carry the burdens in my life. I have worries about my future. I am anxious about my life. Please come into my life. I do not want to carry the same burden that you have already carried for me on the cross two thousand years ago. Please refresh my mind. Come into my life. Give me a new beginning. Let the burdens flee from my heart. Please fill me with your heavenly peace. Lighten my heart. I believe in you. I put all my trust in you. In Jesus’s mighty name, I pray. Amen.
Dear friend, you do not have to carry a heavy heart anymore. Jesus heard your prayers. Believe Him and surrender your burdens to Him. He will lead your life from today.
