(Based on Psalm 103:1,2)
It was not a Hollywood movie, but a true story. A countryside shepherd boy became the king of a country. Neither he was related to the King nor he was a trained warrior. He did not have the army or money to buy one. He was the last and the least in His family. His father least respected Him when the guests came to visit their family. Instead, he was asked to take care of the sheep. The shepherd boy was not frustrated by the job he was asked to do. But in his loneliness and amid the calmness of the wilderness he chose to do what he does best. He was a musician, songwriter, and singer. His name was David.
God chose to make David a King and he was transformed into a great warrior. But the existing King Saul kept chasing after David's life for many years. David ran from one cave to another to save his life. Around 1000 BC Saul died and David became a powerful king. Out of nowhere, a shepherd boy became a king by God's call. When everything was coming together David made a terrible choice. He committed adultery with Bathsheba and to cover that he murdered Bathsheba's husband. When he realized his mistakes, David asked for forgiveness and God forgave Him.
In his old days, David looked back at his own life and wrote a beautiful song to thank God for what God had done in his life.
Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits
We may not be a king today and then we might not also be born as a shepherd. But God especially touched each of our lives. Each one of us knows how much He has blessed and taken our life through. Not only in our times of joy but also through our times of sorrow, God's hand was with us. Through our sickness and our financial problems, God's grace is still taking us through. Let not our heart and the soul forget all the good things he has done for us. Let us love Jesus more and more in our everyday life.
My Dear Friend, Let your eyes look above and let your heart start thanking you for all the benefits God has given in your life. Let your soul magnify and exalt Him for all the benefits. You may be standing on the mountain of victories and success or walking through the dark valley of life problems. Should your life situation in life stop you from thanking God?
Dear friend, if you are reading this article, would you join me in prayer to thank God? Do not look at your situation. But look at God. He can turn your situation. Bow down before God with a thankful heart.
Dear God, Thank you for all the benefits you have given us. You are a great God. I am so sorry, I forget all the great things You have done in my life. My memories are short. I do not remember the good things. My mind is filled with the bitter and tough times of my life. Lord let my soul not forget the good things you provided. You have died for me on the cross to forgive my past. You have paid the entire price to wash me clean. You have cleansed me from the incurable disease called sin. I come to your presence with a thankful heart for what you have done for me. Let me remember the great sacrifice every day in my life and thank you from the bottom of my heart. Be with me and lead me all through my life. Let your name be glorified. In Jesus's name, I pray, Amen.
Dear friend, Thank you for praying the above prayer with me. Let's continue to thank God in the morning and in the evening. Let our every breath continue to praise Him all through our life. May God bless you and make you a blessing for many.
