Dear Friends, most of our generation is witnessing for the first time a worldwide pandemic. The unseen enemy in the form of the virus is spreading across the nations and breaching borders of even some powerful and advanced nations. When the Doctors and the scientists are putting together the best effort to find a solution, what is our role in this? Are we not supposed to bow our heads and plead for the nations in prayer? We are here such a time as these to pray for each other. Let our prayers not be restricted to a nation or a small county. It should span across the entire world. Shall we pray the below prayers in our own words and in our native language?
Pray For the people who are affected by Covid – 19
Dear God, we pray for those who are affected by Covid – 19. There are many who got infected all around the world. Lord, we plead with you please heal them. Your word says, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
God, we are joining hands across the world; we humble our body and soul; we cry out to you. We seek your face from the bottom of our hearts. Please hear our prayers. Answer us. Please heal the people who are affected by the virus. Lord, we plead with you. Is there anything too difficult for you? Lord, please heal the people.
God, we pray for those who have lost the loved ones. Please console them and heal their hearts. We pray for orphans and youth who have lost their parents. Lord, you are the father to the fatherless. You are a wonderful counselor. We seek your face and pray for those families who have lost their loved ones.
Pray to God to Forgive our Past
God, we have sinned against you in many ways. We have made our own choices. We knew what is right, but we willingly did what is wrong. We come before your presence now and bow before you. Please forgive our past mistakes. Please wash us with the precious blood. Make us your children. Nothing can wash our sins away except your blood. There is no redemption for us apart from the cross on which you were crucified. Forgive us, Lord. Please hear our prayers.
We come and stand before you with the tears in our eyes. We know you are the only one who can redeem us. We commit us into your hands. Forgive us once more and wash us clean. Fill us with your living water and be our God once again. Lead us and teach us what we should do during this time of trouble. Thank you and thank you for forgiving us. Let your peace rule our hearts and let your joy fill us.
Pray for our leaders
God, we are praying for our leaders. You have appointed the leaders in the positions they are now. Lord, we pray that they are blessed with your wisdom. Help them to make the right choices. Fill them with wisdom and knowledge. Help them to see what they could not see. So many billions of people are in this world. Every leader’s decision is so important and vital to save nations.
Lord, we pray for every leader who is ruling across the world. Lead them. Show them your ways. Let them listen to your plans and act just. We commit them into your hands. Your word says the king’s heart in God’s hand. Lord, please move our leader’s heart. Make them wise and help them make the right choices.
Pray for front-line workers leading the fight
God, we pray for all the front-line workers like the Doctors, Nurses, Hospital staff, policemen, Army, and everyone who is leading the fight against Covid – 19 in the frontline. Lord, we plead for their safety. They are sacrificially leading the fight against the virus to save so many people’s lives. We commit every one of them and their families into your hand. We pray that they are blessed and be protected under your mighty fortress. No infection should touch their body. Bless every one of them as they spend their time sacrificially for others.
Pray to God to stop the spread of the virus
God, You created heaven and the earth. You are the alpha and omega. You are the beginning and the end. Is there anything impossible for you? Your word says Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. God, we are calling you today. Please answer us. Stop this virus from spreading.
As you have given the limits to the sea, put a limit to the virus. Break the sting of the virus. Let the virus lose its power to spread and infect others. Only you alone can do it. Please show mercy and protect your people. You are a
compassionate God. Let your compassion overrule your judgment. We plead in your presence. Come down and answer our plea. Lord, we stand for every nation and every man of this world. We stand in the gap and pray. Let our cry and tears be seen and heard by you. Please listen to our prayers and heal our nations.
Lord, as each and every one of us prays, please send your healing power across our land. We believe and know that you are going to do it. We believe in you. We surrender to you. We give all the glory to you alone. You alone are worthy to be praised. You are the mighty God. We pray in Jesus’s name, Amen.
