Are you awaiting answers for your prayers?

4.5

Dear reader, any waiting period frustrates us. Waiting in a queue is not so enjoyable. We get annoyed when we wait for a delayed flight or train.

But people gladly joined the queue when new iPhones were released all around the world and they waited from the previous night for the shops to be open the next morning. People queued up for the Harry Potter books with no complaints to buy the first copy of the books.

This very clearly shows that our minds will persevere and wait to receive what we want when the outcome is enjoyable. On the other hand, we do get annoyed and frustrated in our minds when we lose hope in the outcome.

Joseph waited for God’s promise

Long ago, there was a young man called Joseph. God spoke to him through visions from a very early age. God told Him he will be a great man and all his brothers will bow before Him. Joseph knew it was the promise from God. But his life changed. His brothers sold him as a slave at eighteen. He spent the next 12 years as a slave. During the twelve years, he was charged for the mistakes he did not commit. He was thrown into a dungeon. He spent all the cream of young age as a slave. The hurt and pain of his own brothers cheating him and the humiliation of the punishment he has received for the mistake he has not done did not push him into depression.

Joseph kept waiting and waiting for God’s timing. He knew the vision he saw as a young man was true. He knew the God who created Him will never let him down. At thirty in a single day, he was elevated from prison to prime minister of Egypt. You can read this portion in the Bible by clicking this link - Genesis 37, 39-41

The Bible says, “Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Dear friend, are you imprisoned in your life because of circumstances and waiting to come out of it? Put your hope on the promises of God. You will come out soon.

David waited to become king

David was anointed as King when he was a young man. God decided to remove Saul from kingship and give the kingdom to David. But it did not happen overnight. At some point, Saul found out David is going to be the next king. He chased David and hunted for his life. David kept running for his life for fifteen years before he became the king. During these fifteen years, David got the opportunity to kill Saul more than once. All his close friends suggested killing Saul. But He chose to wait for God’s timing. David never tried to push his way to become a king. He wanted God to make him a king in God’s time.

While he was running for his sweet life, David wrote Psalm 63. We might think David would have spent sleepless nights while spending his time in the wilderness. Yes. We are partially right. David did spend sleepless nights, but he did not think about the surrounding situation. He was thinking about God the entire night and singing praises to Him for the hope he has and the promise God gave him that he will be the king one day. The below verses of Psalm 63 David wrote should challenge every one of us who is going through sleepless nights thinking about our problems.

I lie awake thinking of you (God),

meditating on you through the night.

Because you are my helper,

I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings.

I cling to you;

your strong right-hand holds me securely

My dear friend, are you waiting for God’s answers? Do not go weary during your waiting time. God has a promise for your life. The Bible has 66 books only written and dedicated just for you. It shows how much God cares for your future deeply. He will surely answer your prayers.

The scripture says...

Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. He will bring you out.

Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you.

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.

Let’s go to His presence and pray to Jesus. Please place your hand on your heart and call upon the name of Jesus. Pray the below prayer in your own words.

Dear Jesus, I come to your presence. I believe you will surely release me and answer all my prayers. You know my heart and all about my past, present, and future. You are a God who answers my prayers. Jesus, I am ready to wait for your time. I want to receive answers from your hand. My eyes are always on you. I will patiently seek you and put my hope on the promises that you have given in the scripture. I will hold on to the promises and meditate on them day and night. Come into my life. Be my God. Forgive all my past. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight. In Jesus’s mighty name, I pray. Amen.

Dear Friend, we are praying along with you. Jesus will answer your prayer. I have gone through sickness for over three years in my life. Doctors told me there is no medicine available to cure me since the disease I had was very rare. I had to go through surgery. The Doctors tried medicine experimentally. I went through many sleepless nights and side effects because of the medicines. During all those hard years, God was with me. I kept my hope on God. By His grace, I completely came out of the sickness recently. Jesus is with you today. Wherever you are reading this message, he is listening to your heartbeat. Please allow Him into your life. Believe Him.
