Let’s Remember Christ During This Christmas

4.5

During this Christmas season, let's remember Christ, who is the reason for the Christmas we celebrate. Christmas is all about Christ. While we prepare for Christmas let's focus and remember a few things that Christ has done for us.

Christ Gave Up Everything for Us

Often our status, image, and position become very important for us. We get hurt when someone questions or criticizes our background or treats us badly. Some of us take pride in including our educational qualifications and professional status. It's not wrong. But two thousand years ago the God who created heaven and the earth decided to give up all his position and power. He took up the human form and became a man to redeem us from all our past mistakes.

The Bible says, "Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being."

Let's remember Christ who gave up all His privileges of God and humbled himself as a slave. All for the sake of you and me.

Christ Chose to Die for Us

The world claims many gods were born in this world. But none came to this world to die and to save Humanity. Why should Jesus have to die for you and me? We all committed mistakes in our past life. Our conscience condemns us guilty. The only person who can offer us forgiveness should be a person who has never committed any mistake. He should be a holy and blemishless person. Hence the Holy and blemishless God chose to place His only son as a sacrifice to forgive and free us from all our past mistakes.

Holiness is the attribute of God. Hence God chose to redeem humanity by dying on the cross. Jesus came to this world as a sinless man and died on the cross for you and me.

The Bible says, "He (Jesus) was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds, we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all."

During this Christmas let's remember Christ who chose to die for our wrong choices and decisions. The Holy God loves us so much that he was willing to get crushed and at the hands of his own creation.

Christ opened the doors for eternity

The ancient pharaohs wanted to live forever. They built historical pyramids for many years so that their soul can live forever. The mighty emperor Qin Shi Huang who created the Chin Dynasty in China wanted to live forever. He built the massive terracotta grave for himself, which is one of the engineering wonders of this world. All of us wanted to hold on to this life, which is not wrong. Because we are created and designed to live forever. Our human soul once created in our mother's womb lives forever either in heaven or in hell.

Christ came to this world as a man to offer forgiveness for every one of us. Thus he reconciled us with God. He made us holy independent of our past. Thus we received our eternal life for our soul.

The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Jesus opened the gates of eternity. The rich and the poor, qualified and unqualified have access to heaven. We need not build pyramids or Terracotta's to attain eternity. We can do a simple and humble prayer and ask Jesus to forgive our past. Jesus is willing to forgive our past and waiting to listen to our prayers.

Christ came to Free the oppressed

Human life is oppressed by fears, obsessions, bondage, financial stress, sickness, anxieties, depression, and many other factors. Jesus not only came to save us from our past mistakes but also free us from all the oppressions. What we can not do, Christ can do. Nothing is impossible for Him. Are you wondering how can I come out of my debt, obsessions, and sickness? Jesus wants to help you. He said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest". Let's pour out our hearts in His presence and invite Him into our life.

Christmas is always about Christ. He is the reason for our celebration. What a great God He is? Though He is God, He laid down his life for our sake. He forgave all our past inequities. What can we offer him back? We can only go to His presence and thank him from the bottom of our hearts. Let's pray to Jesus.

Please place your hand on your heart and call out the name of Jesus. Pray the below prayer along with us.

Dear Jesus, we come to you with a thankful heart. What a great God you are!! We are not qualified to receive anything you have done for us. We are ordinary people. You are an extraordinary God who created everything in this world beautifully and wonderfully. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We praise and lift you. Please help us celebrate this Christmas remembering you. Help us to pass on this grace to others. Forgive all our past mistakes. We are sinners. Wash us with your precious blood. You are our God. Help us to reflect your humbleness. Help us to give up our life for the sake of you. Help us to glorify your name. There is only one life and one chance to live a pleasing life to you. Help us to hold on to you. Jesus, thank you for coming to us. Help me to be salt and the light for this world. In Jesus's mighty name, we pray. Amen.

The greatest and most appropriate gift we can offer this Christmas to Christ would be to open our hearts and invite him into our life. For this reason, He came to this world.

Dear Readers, May Jesus bless you and make you a blessing for many.
