Dear Friend, March is a special month in most places. It is the month the winter ends and the spring starts. The new leaves come out after the plants survive the period of long winters. We stayed a few years back in Missouri. It was such a beauty to see how the plants come to life in spring after reducing to stump during the winter. The roots supply new power and strength to the plants when spring comes. The flowers bloom once again. This is the beauty of God’s creation. If God can make an empty stump grow again, he can make any life bloom. He can create new branches and flowers in your life too. When you see spring, remember the glorious God who wants to remind you about your life. He wants to lift you up. The Bible says it is always God’s desire to bless us.
March is also a month in which we focus on the cross. What is Cross and why it is so special? During the Roman era, the cross was used to punish the worst criminals. To shame the criminal, the punishment was given outside the city near the highway. So that everybody who enters and leaves the city can see them and curse them. To make the criminal suffer for a long time, their body was hanged on the cross with a set of nails on the hands and feet. If the person hanging on the cross has to take a gulp of air to breathe, then he has to lift his body by applying pressure on the nails. Every ounce of the air comes with an excruciating cost of pain and agony. Finally, after hours of pain and torture, the person gives up and dies.
The cross was the symbol of shame and curse. But Christ chose to suffer and die on the cross. He became a curse so that we don’t have to be cursed. Jesus wanted to take all our shame and suffering on the cross. So that we can be set free. Many write to us about the shame they go through because of the debt they carry. Others write to us about the bondage they are in because of obsessions with drugs, gambling, and sexual immorality. Jesus wants to give freedom. The cost of freedom was already set, and the price was already paid in full on the cross.
The Bible says, “Yet it was our weaknesses he (Jesus) carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.“
Jesus was suffered and crushed for our sake. He traded our shame so that we do not have to go through it.
A New Life
Dear friend, you might ask, if Jesus already died for my past and carried all my past mistakes on the cross, then can I come out of my current situation? Can I have a new life? Yes, dear friend. Jesus said, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” The God who died on the cross for you and me rose from death on the third day. He still lives. He heals and answers every one of our prayers. Are you thirsty to go to His presence today and receive living water? Jesus wants to heal your life today. He is with you right now.

The glorious cross on which He has died still stands as the symbol of great love and sacrifice for humanity.
Let’s go to Jesus and speak to Him today. There is no sin that is dark enough that Jesus can not forgive. There is grief that is deep that He can not comfort. No life is so broken and messed up that Jesus can not mend it. He can solve every problem. Mend every broken heart right now. He holds all the authority and power to bless every life. Jesus said, “I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”

Dear Jesus, I do not have words to thank you for the things you have done for me on the cross. Jesus, I never realized how much you love me. Not even my close friend will do what you have done for me on the cross. But I have put my trust in my friends and the things of this world than trusting you. I never appreciated your love. I never understood the depth and the width of your love. Jesus, please forgive me. I do not deserve this love. Please forgive me. I come before this great cross today. I want to unburden all my anxieties and my depression. Please mend my life. Give me a new heart. Help me love you. Let me carry the cross you have carried. Let me show the world that I am your son. I want to live for you. I want to glorify your name alone. Take away all the pride. Please hold my hands and lead. Free me from all the chains that are holding me. Purify my life. Jesus, forgive all my past mistakes. I bow down before you. I am not qualified to call myself your son. Please accept me on your terms. All my life, I will serve you. I will tell this world who you are and what you have done for me. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
