Dear friend, Do you think there is no forgiveness for your past mistakes? Are you struggling with a guilty conscious indefinitely? Jesus not only wants to forgive your past, but He also wants to forget all of them today. He wants to free you from all the guilt and shame.
We are going to pray the prayer the great men of God prayed. Wait a minute! Are we saying the great men of God also made mistakes like us? Yes, they did. But they humbled their heart and reconciled with God. God did forgive all their past. We are going to pray the same prayer they have prayed. We are going to humble our hearts and pray to God. Jesus will forgive us. He will give us the spiritual strength not to repeat the same mistakes.
Since we are going to pray using the bible verses, we are perfectly praying according to God’s will. Prepare your heart for humble reconciliation with your heavenly father.
Pray the following prayer along with us from the bottom of your heart. Jesus wants to listen to your prayers. He is with you right now. It does not matter what is your background. He wants to welcome you like a loving father.
Let’s pray to Jesus using the prayer David prayed. Make this as your own prayer. Place your hand on your heart and call upon the name of Jesus.
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.
Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions and my sin is always before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight;
So you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.
Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness;
Let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven,
whose sin is put out of sight!
Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!
When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away,
and I groaned all day long.
Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me.
My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat.
Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.
Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagles! Amen.
Dear friend, if you have prayed the above prayer from the bottom of your heart, Jesus, has already forgiven all your past.
The Bible says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
“He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.
For his unfailing love toward those who fear him, is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
He has removed our sins as far from us, as the East is from the West. The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.”
