Discover the secret of finding true rest

Dear friend, Jesus loves you. As we write this article, we pray that He speaks to you as you read this email. Jesus is our loving savior. He knows your heart. Invite Jesus to join with you for the next few minutes.

We do not know much about who you are or your situation. But Jesus knows you. He can help you and is right beside you wherever you are.

Jesus’ words, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 NLT), carry a powerful promise. You may have encountered this verse before or even committed it to memory.

Today, let’s focus on the last part of the verse, the assurance of rest that Jesus offers

Are you searching for rest?

We understand that many young and old are searching for rest. We often receive messages from individuals who cannot find sleep or peace due to their fears and uncertainties about the future. They are grappling with questions about how to navigate their current situations.

Why do we often find ourselves unable to rest despite the abundance of distractions and comforts around us?

We have the best entertainment available at our fingertips, the internet connecting us through email, social media, and online channels.

We have movie theaters, malls, and parks. Yet, none of these can provide the proper rest our hearts yearn for. They may offer temporary distractions but cannot fill the void that only Jesus can.

Some believe they will find rest after retirement. They start planning for retirement from a young age so that they can rest. But they should talk to some older adults now to understand whether they are at rest.

What is a true rest?

Dear friend, Money, wealth, and entertainment will not give you rest. Only Jesus can give you rest and peace. Hence, He said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

Is your soul weary today? Are you carrying the burdens of life? Amid the storm, you will find rest.

Some of you could argue, how can I find rest amid the difficult situation I am going through? The Bible says,

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6,7 ESV.

The peace of God will guard your hearts and minds. It will fill your heart with rest. The peace from God is beyond human understanding.

Somebody, logically, should not be at peace due to the situation they are going through. But they will find peace from God, and their hearts will rest.

Hence, as the verse says, the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Secret of finding true Rest:

The truth is we will all be sick at some point. We are going to be old, for sure. We have burdens and worries; some of you might have pressing problems.

This is a broken and fallen world. We will leave this world one day when God calls us home. Our life is short. It does not need to go through all the toil.

Jesus is inviting everyone to receive His rest. Is your heart searching for Jesus today?

We have tried to be in the driver’s seat of our lives many days. Life’s journey was not smooth as we navigated through a broken and fallen world.

Jesus wants to help us if we allow Him to be in the driver’s seat. He has already navigated this dangerous earth.

Jesus lived on this planet like you and me. He wants to show us the way. What we can not see, He can see. What is impossible for us is possible for Jesus, Who can show us the solutions to our problems.

Like a father awaiting his children’s return, Jesus awaits you. Are you alone today as you read this text? Jesus is next to you. He wants to wipe away all your tears and give you rest. Do you have time to speak to Him

Prayer for Rest in life:

Let’s go to the presence of Jesus and pray to Him. Jesus wants to give you rest. The Bible says, “If only you would listen to his voice today! The Lord says, “Don’t harden your hearts” – Psalm 95:7,8 ESV.

Please do not harden your hearts today. Invite Jesus into your life, seek Him with all your heart, and let the Holy Spirit minister to you.

Ask Him to fill your hearts with rest. Let your soul cry out to Him right now. Your help will come from the Lord who created the heaven and earth.

Let’s pray. Prayer can change your life. Please place your hand on your heart and call upon the name of Jesus.

Pray the prayer below with us from the bottom of your hearts in your own words. Jesus is listening to your prayers. He wants to fill your heart with rest. We are praying along with you.

Dear Jesus, I come to you as I am. I have searched to find rest for my soul, and today, I realized that only you can give me rest.

You are a source of rest and peace. I invite you in my life. I need you. I can not navigate my life without you. Be the captain of my life.

Please show me the way. Teach me the things I have to correct. Search my heart and convict me on my past life.

Holy Spirit, speak to me. I want to change. Jesus, you alone can lead my life and help me navigate problems.

Forgive me and wash me with your precious blood. Jesus, I believe in you. I put all my trust in you. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
