Dear friend, are you searching for ways to construct your life according to God's. As we continue our life in an ever-changing world, it is important we design our life carefully to avoid disappointments. Our wrong choices can lead us to many negative consequences. How can we avoid making wrong choices and align our lives to God's original purpose and design?
How to avoid making wrong Choices?
Normally our aspirations are based on what we want to do in our life. We align them with our expectations and goals. Our social upbringing taught us to be confident, be bold, and trust in our ability. We are more logical, intelligent, and analytical while making decisions. We seem to be having all the control over our life.
Despite that, we end up leading unsatisfied life. We get emails from many about their unsuccessful dreams and unachieved desires in life. Let’s ask the following question to ourselves?
When the potter makes the pottery, who has the better control over the design of the pottery. The potter or the pot? When the artist starts a drawing, who has the final picture in mind? It will be the artist. The Potter and the Artist are the creators. The Pot and the final picture is the creation. In both, the scenario the creator knew how exactly he wants to design His creation. In a very similar way, the God who created us is the best person to design our life. He created us with the plan. He knew how to shape our lives. Of course, we are not the pot or art. We have a free will to make our own choices. We can run away from God's purpose. If we allow Jesus to control our lives and make our life choices by consulting Him, we can avoid so many heartaches in our life. God says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.“
Can we trust God’s plan for our life?
We have two kinds of Goals. Short-term and long-term goals. Short-term goals are something we want to achieve in the near future. Long-term goals are something that is planned during the span of our lifetime. According to Bible, our life is eternal, and it needs a long-term goal and a design. A child which is born in this world might lose its physical body when it dies. But its soul lives forever. All the religions agree on this point. Jesus said, “God gave his one and only Son (Jesus Christ), so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal (everlasting) life.“
Dear friend, When God says He has a plan for us and plans to prosper us, He is not talking about a short-term plan. He has a plan for our eternity. At times, most of us look at our current situation and get disappointed with God. Friend, please don’t. Place your hand on your heart and tell yourself, “God is working on me. One day He will finish the work. I will be truly a masterpiece in His eternity.”
The pot looks ugly while the potter starts making it. It is just wet clay. The beginning strokes of the art may look meaningless. Because is a work in progress. It's not complete yet. But the artist will make it perfect. One day our life will be perfect. We will stay perfect in our creator’s home forever and ever. Do not be discouraged by looking at your current situation.
How God shapes our life according to His design?
God is all-powerful, omniscient, omnipresent, and a gentleman. In the worldly sense, power and control go hand in hand. But God is powerful at the same time, a gentleman. He never tries to control our life His way. He only comes into our life when we invite Him. In order for God to work with us, we need to invite Him into our life willingly. Not only that, we need to give Him all the control of our life.
Now, Here is the main problem. We rarely want to give control of our life to others. But Jesus can only shape our life according to His great plan if we allow Him as the ONLY master of our life. Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.“
There are various aspects in our life that will hinder God's plan. It could be love for positions, power, money, lust, obsessions, hunger for power, selfishness, etc. Unless we strip down all these from our life, Jesus can not be the master of our life.
How to make Jesus our only master?
It is impossible to come out of our worldly desire without the help of Jesus himself. He will give us the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will give us the spiritual strength to let go of what we can not let go of in our life. It could be obsessions, bad behavior, or anything else. The Holy Spirit can help you right now. Jesus is a gentleman. He can only shape our life as much as we allow Him to do. If you want to know more about how Holy Spirit can help, you can read here => Holy Spirit can Free us from our Past
Dear friend, Will you allow your life to be designed by God? It does not matter what is your current situation. Please allow God to mold you. He will shape and bring the best out of your life. He is the potter and the great artist who created heaven and earth. Let’s pray to Jesus.
Please place your hand on your heart. Pray the below prayer with your own words.
Dear Jesus, I come to you with a humble heart. You are the God who created the sun and moon. All the stars, mountains, trees, and animals exemplify your glory. They are the beautiful work of your hands. You created me in your image. But I have lived my life on my terms. I never allowed you to control my life.
Jesus, please take control of my life. You are a wise God. You know my past, present, and future. Come into my life. Be my master. Mold me and make me new. Take away all the negative attitudes from me. I want to live my life under your wings of protection. Let me surrender my future into your hand. Forgive my past and wash all my past mistakes. Let me follow you with all my heart. In Jesus’s mighty name, I pray. Amen.
