How to lead a life without regret? How to bury past regrets?

Dear Friend, We are very glad to connect with you once again in September 2021. Hope you are doing well by the grace of God? We read all your emails and praying for you. May Jesus speak to you as you read the below email from us.

We often look back at our past and feel sorry for things that have happened in the past. The years that were wasted in wrong decisions, things that we could have done differently, the amount of money and time placed on the wrong choices, and the broken relationships and lost opportunities can make us regret. The regrets can turn into hurt and the hurt into pain and the pain can leave a permanent scar in our life. None of us will have a perfect life. None can say I do not regret anything I have done in my past. We all carry some past pieces of baggage in our life. How can we avoid regrets? How can we lead a life without regret?

How to Plan Our Future without Regrets?

My child would often ask me to tell her what profession I want her to take in the future. When I kept quiet, she even gave me options such as a teacher, dentist, or police officer to choose from. I always tell her to pray and ask Jesus to guide her about her future. After a few days, she came back to me with the same question. I asked her if she had prayed about it. She said she is praying about it every day. I was happy with this answer. But she was not. Her problem is Jesus never responded to her prayers. I had to explain to her God’s way of leading our life.

How God leads our life?

God’s way of leading our life would be really different. There was a man called Paul. He wrote many books in the Bible. He was young, intelligent, passionate about what he believed, and he was climbing the corporate ladder much faster than others. One of the highly paid and powerful positions in the 1st-century Jewish culture was being part of the ruling council. Paul was well qualified through his education and connections and was making the right move to be there. To show his passion for the Jewish tradition, he called the followers of Christ radicals and planned to eliminate them.

Then one day, he had a life-changing encounter with Jesus. The Jesus he thought was crucified and dead stood before him. He never believed in the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. But then Jesus stood before Him. He heard the power of the voice of God. Without a doubt, he had to change his perspective. Paul realized he was chasing wrong goals and carrying the wrong motives.

Jesus never revealed the entire plan He had. Paul started obeying God with what we had in hand. He left his ambitions and took up the goals and ambitions Jesus gave him. Very soon he became a preacher and taught about Christianity around the world. He had to go through many challenges and hurdles. In the later part of life, Bible says, “God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.“. Paul wrote thirteen of the twenty-seven books in the Bible. Most of the world knows about Paul and we name many of us after his name, “Paul” inspired by what he had done for God. Paul never knew or understood this great calling when Jesus appeared to Him first time.

In the final book, Paul wrote, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me-the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return.

Paul never regretted surrendering his life to Jesus. He never regretted quitting his ambition and goals.
