We are so glad to connect with you today. Jesus loves you dearly. He is with you regardless of your situation. He wants to help you. You are precious in His sight.

During the season of Lent, we remember Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. Two thousand years ago, Jesus was crucified on the cross for the sake of our mistakes.

You can listen to the message below and view it in video format by clicking the below YouTube link. You can share your prayer requests in the comment section below.

The crucifixion on the Cross was intended to give capital punishment to someone with maximum pain. The person condemned to die on the Cross had to carry the cross beam to the crucifixion site, where he would be nailed and left to die. The process of death will be normally slow and painful. The bodies are left on the Cross to inflict fear and serve as a warning to others.

God allowed His dear son Jesus to undergo the process of crucifixion to redeem us from all our past sins and reconcile us with Him.

The Bible says, “When he (Jesus) was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing.” – Galatians 3:13 NLT.

He personally carried our sins in his body on the Cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds, you are healed.” – 1 Peter 2:24 NLT.

Through crucifixion on the Cross, Jesus took away the curse of sin and its impact on humanity. The curse of sin can enslave us; it can stop us from fulfilling God’s glorious purpose in our lives and deprecate a human life to mere existence.

You can read the various testimonies from people who have tasted miracles at the foot of this glorious cross here => Testimonies.

The Paradox of Cross:

Jesus’s crucifixion was a huge paradox to the entire world.

The religious leaders in Jesus’s day wanted to kill Jesus. They laid their plan meticulously and swiftly captured Jesus in the night. They took permission from the Roman Governor to crucify Jesus on the Cross. When Jesus finally died on the Cross, the religious leaders thought they had finished Jesus forever. They felt victorious when He died. They thought there was no more Jesus and the name of Jesus was finished forever.

But to their surprise, Jesus from the Cross also said, “IT IS FINISHED,” and died. How is it possible? How can a man who died on the Cross make a victory speech by finishing his task before losing his life?

The world might conclude that Jesus was a loser. Someone wrote to me and mocked that I am preaching about a pitiable God who could not free himself from three nails.

Independent of what others say and feel, Jesus never came to win but to lose. He came to lose so that we could win and gain.

Jesus said, “God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” – John 3:17 NLT.

Jesus went on to say, “If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.” – Matthew 10:39 NLT.

He died on the Cross so that we could be forgiven. If you would like to know why, you can read here => Why Jesus died on the Cross.

Astonishingly, the very Jesus the priests thought they had finished became the household name in billions of homes and trillions of prayers today. Nobody knows much about the priest who plotted and killed Jesus. Ultimately, the true winner is the one who died on the Cross but said, IT IS FINISHED.

The sun could not digest the paradox of Cross. It went and hid itself, and the earth became dark. What an injustice! How can a mere creation crucify its creator? The earth could not accept the injustice, and it grumbled and shook when Jesus died. The people experienced darkness and earthquakes during the crucifixion of Jesus.

The Paradox of the Cross is unexplainable but foretold, prophesied, and planned long before Jesus came to earth.

What does the Finished work on the cross mean to you?

Jesus said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.John 19:30 NLT

When Jesus said it was finished, he meant He had accomplished His Father’s will and the true purpose of His life on earth. The purpose of Jesus’s ministry on earth was summarized by Isaiah in 61:1-2 NLT as below.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.

Jesus came to release the captives from the bondage of sin, obsession, debt, and depression and set them free. He wants to comfort those who mourn for their spiritual inadequacy and fill their hearts with peace.

If you want to know the purpose of Jesus’s ministry and how it applies to your life, you can read it here => Who is Jesus?

Jesus confirmed His purpose of ministry on earth by reading the same passage from Isaiah and said, “The Scripture you’ve just heard has been fulfilled this very day!” – Luke 4:21 NLT.

Are you going through a difficult situation today? Jesus died on the Cross to set you free. He has done everything on the Cross and said it is finished so that you and I can go free from the bondage of sin.

You and I do not have to travel anywhere to receive this grace, and you don’t have to pay anyone to receive this great freedom. Jesus wants to set you free right now, wherever you are. You don’t have to carry the heavy burdens Jesus already carried on the Cross. It is your day.

Invitation to enjoy the finished work of Christ:

Jesus’s crucifixion reconciled humanity and God. It opened the gates of heaven for every person so that they could enjoy Jesus’s presence every day.

The Bible says, “He personally carried our sins in his body on the Cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.” – 1 Peter 2:24 NLT.

Jesus wants to offer spiritual, emotional, and physical healing to everyone today. Shall we go to the foot of the Cross and unite our hearts in one accord to receive this healing?

Jesus said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.” – Mark 2:17 NLT.

Dear Friend, Jesus wants to speak to you. He has finished everything for your sake. Your sins are forgiven. He has set you free from all your past. He took the shame and became cursed so we do not have to suffer. Jesus is waiting for you. Shall we pray to Jesus?

Please place your hand on your heart and call upon the name of Jesus. Pray the below prayer along with us from the bottom of your heart. Invite Him into your life. Pray the below prayer in your own words.

Dear Jesus, Thank you for your finished work on the Cross. You have sacrificed so much for me. You loved me first and gave your life so that I could be saved. I can not repay anything for the great sacrifice. You took all my shame and guilt away so I could follow you all my life. Jesus, thank you so much for what you have done in my life. I want to enjoy the fruit of the freedom you have earned through your death and resurrection. Please help me to believe and hold on to the fruits of your finished works.

Jesus, you have obeyed your father, fulfilled his will, and completed your purpose on earth. Help me fulfill my purpose on this earth. I want to be obedient to you and fulfill the great purpose for which you have created me. In Jesus’s mighty name, I pray. Amen.
