Prayer of a depressed mind. Praying through Psalm while depressed

4.5

Dear friend, are you depressed? Is your life situation makes you worried? Many great men of God when through a similar path. They have written their prayers in the Bible during difficult times. We are going to pray the same prayer they have prayed many years ago. Let’s go to the presence of Jesus with a humble heart and pray the below prayers.

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again-my Savior and my God!

As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.

I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him?

Come quickly, Lord, and answer me, for my depression deepens.

Don’t turn away from me, or I will die.

Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.

Rescue me from my enemies, Lord; I run to you to hide me.

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.

For the glory of your name, O Lord, preserve my life. Because of your faithfulness, bring me out of this distress.

O Lord, God of my salvation, I cry out to you by day. I come to you at night.

Now hear my prayer; listen to my cry. For my life is full of troubles, and death draws near. I am as good as dead, like a strong man with no strength left.

My eyes are blinded by my tears. Each day I beg for your help, O Lord; I lift my hands to you for mercy.

O Lord, I cry out to you. I will keep on pleading day by day.

The Lord is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the stronghold of my life-of whom shall I be afraid?

Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.

For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.

Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.

Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper.

Do not reject me or forsake me, God my Savior. Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.

Teach me your way, Lord; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressor.

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles.

For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.

The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.

The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.

But the Lord will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.Amen.
