We are writing this message on Easter Sunday. Jesus Christ died on the cross two thousand years ago and was raised again by the power of the holy spirit. What does the resurrection of Jesus Christ mean to us? How does it impact my life? This is what we are going to see today.
We became spiritually alive through Christ
Nicodemus, a well-educated Pharisee came to Jesus to know more about Him. Jesus told Nicodemus that he needs to be born again to enter the kingdom of God. Nicodemus could not understand how can he be born again as he was already an old man. The born-again experience Jesus spoke to Nicodemus was not a physical rebirth but a spiritual rebirth. How this spiritual rebirth is achieved?
When we believe in Christ our spiritual man comes alive. It was resurrected from spiritual death and given new life so that our spirit can start communicating with God. Only a man with a living spirit can have a relationship with God. A spiritually dead can not communicate with God. Because God is in spirit. Jesus said, “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth“. The transformation from spiritual death to life happens in the human mind through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Bible says, “But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.“
Without the resurrection of Christ from death to life we can not be spiritually renewed or reborn. The same power of the Holy Spirit, that raised Jesus from death also raises our spiritual man from death to life. Unless we are spiritually renewed or reborn we can not have communication with Jesus.
The Bible says, “if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.“
We were once spiritually dead due to our old nature. We lived according to our desires. We were chained by the lust of our eyes and the pride of our hearts. Christ wants to give us immeasurable power to break away from our past chains. We do not have to be a slave to anything that belongs to the world.
Many times we do not understand the power of God to which we have access to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.“
Dear friend, Jesus wants to transform your life. He wants to make you new. He wants to give access to the same power of resurrection to come out of all your past. Your past could be a broken life, loneliness, depression, anxieties, or addictions. Jesus can fix all our past. He has the power to release us and lead our lives to peace.
Access to eternity
Many kings wanted to live forever. They wanted to hold on to their power and be eternal kings. Pharaohs built the pyramid, which they thought can give them eternity. Qin Shi Huang, the great Chinese king built terracotta, where he thought would spend his eternity after his death.
But Jesus opens the gates of eternity wide open for everyone. Eternity is now available for everyone who believes in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Every one of us fears death. All humans have to die one day. But because of the resurrection of Jesus, death is no longer a full stop for human life. It is just a comma and life continues ever after in heaven. We don’t have to fear death anymore. We have a savior who is willing to receive us on the other side of the shore.
Because of the resurrection of Jesus, death has lost its power. It can not stop humanity from grasping eternity. The Bible says, “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?“
We have received eternity because of the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ. How much thankful we should be for the sacrifice Jesus made. Let’s go to His presence with a thankful heart and praise Him with all that is within us.
Please place your hand on your heart and call upon the name of Jesus. Pray the below prayer in your own heart from the bottom of your heart.
Dear Jesus, thank you for your sacrifice. You have died on the cross for my sake. Because of your great sacrifice on the cross, I have the assurance of eternity. Thank you for giving me born again experience. You raise my soul and surround my heart with peace and joy. I am so happy today because of the great promise you have given. I do not have to fear death anymore. Even a thousand tongues who not be sufficient to praise you. Forgive all my past. Renew my mind. I believe in you. I put all my hope in you. In Jesus’s mighty name, I pray. Amen.
