It was the 19th of January, 2020. The flight I was traveling was about to land at Narita Airport in Tokyo. The local TV channel broadcasting in our flight was flashing about a new virus called Coronavirus originating from China. There was news about Chinese passengers entering Narita airport from an aircraft but none were sure how many of them were already infected with the coronavirus. Some of the passengers were wearing masks and some did not. The Japanese reporters were posting questions on a few Chinese passengers if they will be willing to wear the mask if they were offered one.
Today is 24th March 2020. Looking back at what happened over the last two months my thoughts were not focused on what could have been done better, but how much little control we have on our life. No one imagined the situation will turn this bad. At least I did not when I watched the news two months back. The current economic situation and the worldwide lockdown could have been a good comic story if it was told two months back. No economist would have predicted a recession triggered by a virus such a time like this. It just happened before our eyes. We are witness to what is happening. The best equipped 21st-century scientists are giving their best to find a weapon to fight the unseen enemy of this world. We the social animals are finding it hard to cooperate with social distancing policies. Every day we hear negative reports from hospitals, government and wall street.
Dear friend, Are you one of them who is glued to the internet or television trying to predict what will happen tomorrow? I wish I could do that two months ago. I wish the reporter who asked the question to many passengers in Narita airport could predict the future two months ago. But the bitter truth is none of us have the power to control our future. Our knowledge is limited. Our strength is too little even to fight against a small protein virus. I am sure it is no longer too difficult to gulp that bitter pill of reality on who we are. We are mere humans. We have not figured out all the corners of our life. We only know where we came from. We have no clue about what is ahead of us. Is there a way we can secure our future?
There is a creator God who knows you and me. He created us. He formed us in our mother's womb. He made us beautifully and wonderfully. He says For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Dear Friend, are you right now sitting in a country where everything is locked down? Are you worried about your future and the upcoming impact of the situation? Please stop worrying. Give your future plans to the God who has control over your future. He knows the past, present, and future. He has a plan for your life. His plans are better than your plans. His ways are wiser than your ways.
Wherever you are right now, independent of your conditions around you, start looking up to God instead of looking around. God is waiting to listen to your needs. Bible says Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. He will bring you out. Are you ready to run towards the arms of Jesus? There you will find your hope and meaning for the future. Our lives are not the same. God has a unique plan for every one of us. Jesus is waiting to lead you to the future with new hope. Are you ready?
Dear friend, would you please pray right now along with us and allow God to take control of your life? Place your hands on your heart and tell Jesus that you are giving control of your life to Him. Ask Him to lead you and guide you.
Dear God, Thank you for making me realize that I have very little control over my future. I know you have a beautiful plan for my life. Please forgive my past life. I have made mistakes and made my own choices. I lived my life on my own terms. I regret my past decisions. Please take control of my life. Let me start trusting you and follow you with all my heart. Change my life and make me new. Let me listen to your voice and follow you with all my heart. I surrender my decisions and future into your hand. In Jesus's name, I pray, Amen.
Dear Friend, we are praying for you. God has surely heard your prayers. May God bless you and make you a blessing for many. If you have any prayer request please contact us using the below link.
