Our God is a righteous and Holy God. He created the universe with his word. He said, Let there be light. The light was there. Even though He is powerful and all things are possible for Him, the Lord is always righteous. His "yes" is always yes. He does what is right and perfect. In today's world, we might have seen people with power who flex the system in their favor. Our God never does it. He is always righteous, Holy, and just. Righteousness and Holiness are his attributes.
Knowing God and understanding the attributes of God helps us to align our lives close to the likeness of God. Having a deep knowledge of our Lord's attributes helps us to live a pleasing life for Him.
The word of God is so powerful. The Bible says The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Genesis 1:2,3. We hardly know enough about our solar system. God created all of them with his word. His word has knowledge, insight, wisdom, and action. Every word accomplished what He said. He need not have to do a prototype of the earth before creating the actual earth. There is no testing and experimentation needed. He just has to say it and then it happens with all perfectness and beauty.
The Bible says, "When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him (Jesus), and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick." - Matthew 8:16. Please refer to the underlined statement, "a word". Jesus drove out the spirit with a single word. He healed the sick with a single word.
Yet with all power and glory, God never uses his power in a wrong way. It is because He is righteous. He is Holy. God sets the standard for righteousness and Holiness. He is the standard for righteousness. God says, "My salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail." - Isaiah 51:6.
When we sinned and fell short of the glory of God, Jesus came down and covered us with His righteousness. When we are permanently lost in the realm of sin, Jesus came to meet us. He washed us with precious, blemishless blood so that no one calls us a sinner. Jesus said, "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” - Luke 19:10. Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners. - Luke 2:17. Jesus came in search of us. He found us when we could not find Him. He showed us how to break away from the clutches of darkness and into a new life.
The Bible says, "God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8.
He is a holy God. He is a righteous God. If someone is educated they might look down on another uneducated person. If someone is righteous and Holy they might look down on another person who is in shambles and broken. But our God did not do that. He lifted us from the miry clay. The Bible says, "He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand." - Psalm 40:2. Many of us might think it is impossible to come out of the obsession of gambling. But Jesus can set us free. As the Bible says, "‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty." - Zacharia 4:6. The spirit of the Lord, who is righteous and Holy will set us free and lead us.
It is a great feeling to know this holy and righteous God is our heavenly father. We can talk to our Holy God every day. Many of us have no time to speak to Him. But Jesus is waiting to talk to us. Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and eat with him, and he with me." - Revelation 3:20.
Even greater, He is making an open call to everyone to follow Him. Jesus said, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." - Mark 1:17. What a great honor to follow our great God, who gave everything for our sake.
My friend, we have a great God who is righteous and Holy. The angels sing day and night, "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!". We have a great privilege to join the Heavenly Choir and sing the same song they sing before the throne of God. All humanity independent of race, color, status, and position is welcome to his glorious holy presence. We can not enter His presence by our merit and righteousness, but by God's righteousness that is freely given to us. What a privilege and an honor to stand before God and praise along with the great angels, and saints of God. We do not deserve this. But Jesus made us unqualified as qualified.
Dear friend, are you ready to meet this glorious Holy, and righteous God today? He is waiting to meet every one of us. You do not need an appointment. He is always available to listen to every prayer. Let's pray to Him.
Please place your hand on your heart and call upon the name of Jesus. Pray the below prayer in your own words.
Dear Jesus, You are my heavenly father. You alone righteous and Holy God. There is none like you. You came down for me for my sake to forgive all my sins and wash away all my iniquities. I am a born sinner, but I can enter the Holy presence because of your grace. You clothed my life with your righteousness so that I can be blameless. I am a born sinner but you took my hands and invited me to your holy of holies. Jesus, I do not deserve it. I am not worthy to even come closer. Who am I that you should be mindful of me? I am nobody. I am not worthy of your love. Thank you so much for loving me even though I am a sinner. I want to hold on to you. Please lead me and guide me. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
Dear Friend, thanks so much for joining with us today. Jesus wants you to know more about Him. He wants to reveal himself to you. Please continue your walk with Him. May Jesus bless you and make you a blessing for many.
