The solution to the problem of living together

4.5

We receive prayer requests from many who called their children’s fathers their partners. Some introduce their companion as their children’s father, not as their husband. Others send prayer requests to conceive a child with their partner. The world has accepted the living together relationship broadly. It established a broad consensus across the age groups. Even their parents accept living arrangements together, knowing what their children are doing. Some websites provide guidance, checklists, and steps to take before moving together. In a nutshell, the world broadly accepted living together as a perfect norm in today’s context.

Dear friend, if you are living together with someone right now, we are not trying to prove you wrong. We want to show you how much the God who created you cares for your future. His heart longs to meet you and welcome you to His precious presence right now. Jesus knows your past, present, and all about your future. He is the author of your life.

The Bible says, “Honor and enjoy your Creator while you’re still young, Before the years take their toll and your vigor wanes,

Before your vision dims and the world blurs

And the winter years keep you close to the fire.

The wise man Solomon, who wrote these words, knows the young heart has the strength and vigor to do its will. They may fulfill their desires. They have the free will to do what they want to do. In the current era, popularity and the majority define morality. Then, as they age, past choices and decisions catch up. The regrets surround their life from the past. It reminds them of the times they spent far away from their Lord. But the time we have lost in our youth because of bad choices remains lost forever. If we need to avoid regrets in our old age, we should make the right choices at a young age.

Is there a problem with living together?

God created the institution of marriage. He compared the marriage relationship of husband and wife to His relationship with humanity. Like the husband and wife loved each other, Jesus loved humanity. If we alter the institution of marriage and agree with living together, then we try to distort the definition of God’s relationship with humanity. We stand guilty before God when we try to alter and customize how God intends to unite men and women.

The Bible says, “Your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.” When we sin against God, it separates us from His presence. Our prayers will not reach his presence and hence will not be answered. We get prayer requests from people who live together. They ask for prayer for the children, their relationship, their finances, etc. We do not want to point out anyone’s mistakes. So, we pray to Jesus to gently show them what they should change. Unless they convert the live-in relationship to a husband-and-wife relationship, Jesus can not answer the prayers. He can not enter their home and bless their children.
