We get many emails from people who feel worthless. They feel worthless because they lost something precious to them. It could be their job, marriage, money, aspirations, or loved ones. They lose hope when they realize they can not get back what they have lost. The person who feels worthless then looks at their peers and compares their situation with peers. The comparison intensifies the feeling of worthless. The comparison through social tools gives an impression as if they are the only sad people in the world.
What is Your Worth?
It is human nature to feel let down when we go through a difficult situation. Is the worthiness of our life is defined only by what we have, what we achieved, and where we are? The bible defines worthiness in a very different way. Jesus said, “what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?.” Jesus computed the worth of the human soul far higher than the entire worth of the world. The entire world’s current GDP is around $81 trillion dollars. If we include all the gold, oil, cost of land and precious stones hidden in the world, the worth of the world could be much more than a mere $18 Trillion. The bible says the worth of our human soul is more expensive and important than the entire value of the world.
How important you are to God?
We understand the human soul is more precious than the entire earth. How much importance does God give to our soul? God sent His only son Jesus Christ, to save the human soul from going to hell. God did not want to leave this critical task to His angels or any other most trusted man. He sent his only son, Jesus, to save humanity from the consequence of sin. Jesus came to this world to open the gates of heaven to everyone who believes in him. He took all our punishment, and he was crushed by our iniquities.
The Bible says, “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son” God values us more than anything else. He was willing to sacrifice His only son, Jesus, on the cross to pay the penalty for the sins we have committed.
There was a king who made fun of this concept. He always asked his minister why Jesus had to come to earth to save humanity? Why can’t God send one of his angels? The minister who believed in Christ did not have any answer to the king. One day the king along with his son and minister were traveling on a ship on a leisure trip. By mistake, the king’s son slipped and fell into the sea. The king immediately jumped into the sea to save his son. When he came back to the ship, the minister asked the king, “King you had so many soldiers. They are even willing to die for you. Why did you jump into the sea yourself to save your son? You should have asked one of your loyal soldiers to do the job” King replied immediately. He is my son. I can not leave this job to anyone else. The minister responded, that for this same reason God sent his only son Jesus to the world to save mankind. We are His children. He did not want to leave the job of saving his children to the angels. The king clearly understood why Jesus had to come to the earth.
Dear friend, Jesus values you and considers you as his most precious child. Independent of how others see you, for God, you are his masterpiece. He created you wonderfully and beautifully. God never makes defective goods. All his creations are perfect and flawless. You are His perfect creation. But the journey through the earth will never be comfortable. There are going to be challenges, disappointments, and failures. There are going to be moments of tears and heartache. Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” But Jesus guarantees to be with us and helps us to go through and come out of those difficult circumstances.
Dear friend, we are not going to lose our worthiness because of our current status on earth or momentary life situation. Our worth is secured in the hands of God. Please do not lose hope. Wherever you are right now, please pray the below prayer. Place your hand on your heart and call upon the name of Jesus. Let’s pray.
Dear Jesus, you have revealed to me today how much important I am to you. I thought I was worthless. But your word says that I am the most precious creation and your masterpiece. You sent your only son, Jesus Christ, to save me. You have loved me so much and valued my soul. I am your child. Why should I feel worthless? I am a child of a God who created heaven and the earth. One day, I will see you with my own eyes. I worship you and bow down before you for what you have done for me. What a great God you are!! I am so proud to call you my heavenly father. I want to hold on to you all through my life. Please take away my unworthy feeling. Please come into my life and lead me. Hold my hands. I surrender my life to you. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray. Amen.
Dear friend, Jesus heard your prayers. He knows the difficult situation you are going through. He will surely help you. We are praying for you. May Jesus bless you and take away all the unworthy feelings in your heart.
Jesus wants to make you His own child. Ask for forgiveness for your past life. Jesus will forgive you. He will renew your life and lead you like a father lead His own child. Please humble your heart and pray to Jesus.
