Dear friend, we warmly welcome you to our journey to know God more. If you have missed our previous meditation on God’s attributes, you can catch all of them at Knowing God. It is a great joy to know and grow in the knowledge of Jesus. He owns the heavens and the earth. He is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. He is God everlasting and eternal.

We measure the distance in miles or kilometers. We understand any distance is between the beginning and an endpoint. We compute the time in seconds, minutes, and hours. It has a start and end point. As a human, we can not imagine anything without the start and end points. Our life has a beginning and an end. We live in a finite mindset.

Our God is the Eternal God

The God we worship does not have any of the boundaries. He is beyond the beginning and the end. The Bible says, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” – Genesis 1:1. According to this verse, God was there before the beginning. He created the heavens and the earth.

Jesus said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.” – Revelation 21:6 ESV. Jesus holds the beginning and the end. In other words, God is much beyond the start and the end. Jesus knows our past. He understands our present and knows about our future. Does Jesus know all about my future and what I will do tomorrow? The answer is yes.

Let us try to understand this through an analogy:

One day, Jesus stood before many and shouted, come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Many hundreds listened to His voice. But only ten of them faithfully accepted His call and came to Him. He invited them to His home. When they entered, they found a welcoming verse written on the wall. It said, “For I have chose you before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in my sight.” They could not understand how they were chosen before the world was created. They asked Jesus, we decided to obey your call a few minutes back. How did you choose us before the creation of the world? Jesus said, I know you will obey, and hence, I have chosen you before the creation of this world.

We might find it hard to understand because we are always used to the limit of time. But our God does not have any limitations. He is eternal.

Jesus wants to give us Eternal Life:

Our God is eternal. We are created in the image of God. Though our body perishes after death, our soul lives forever, either with God (heaven) or away from God(hell). A soul created in a mother’s womb never dies. Only our physical body dies and perishes. The ultimate craving and longing of our soul is to connect itself with God, where it can find peace and rest. None of the precious things in this world can satisfy our desire for eternal life. You can read here to know, “What is eternal life?”

We do not have to earn eternal life. God wants to give eternal life as a gift to every one of us.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16 ESV

Jesus Christ

Jesus already paid all the price to give eternal life to us. He died on the cross and forgave all our past mistakes to cleanse us and make us righteous before His throne of grace.

Eternal life is 100% Free:

Jesus wants to share the eternal life with us. The greatest gift God offered to humanity is eternal life. It opens the way for us to spend our eternity along with Jesus. He said, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” – John 10:10 ESV. The Bible says, “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” – Isaiah 55:1 ESV. Jesus said, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.” – John 7:37 ESV.

Friend, it does not matter who you are and what your background is. Jesus is inviting you to receive this eternal life. You don’t have to pay. It is a gift from the heavenly father. He paid all the price so that we could get it 100% free. Jesus is the fountain of life. Are you ready to receive this glorious gift?

Let’s go to His presence of Jesus, who is the fountain of life. He is waiting to give us the gift of eternal life. Pray the below prayer in your own words. Jesus is listening.

Dear Jesus, I come to you with a humble heart. Thank you for the gift of eternal life. I do not deserve this. I can not earn it. I am not qualified to receive it. You chose to give a precious gift to an unqualified and unworthy person like me. Jesus, you have suffered on the cross for my mistakes. You were broken and crushed for my iniquities. Why should a king of kings pay the price for a sinner like me? Please forgive all my past mistakes. I want to live my life the way you want me to live. I want to serve you with all my heart. You are the everlasting and eternal God. I love you with my heart, soul, and my strength. Please lead me. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Dear Friend, thanks so much for joining with us today. Hope Jesus spoke to you today. He is a good Shepherd. Please continue to hold on to Him. May Jesus bless you and make you a blessing for many. Keep in touch.
