Jesus said, Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. - John 14:24 ESV
Dear friend, We are continuing our Journey of Knowing God. We are going to discuss another attribute of Jesus. He is the prince of peace. He can fill our hearts with peace amid all situations in life. He is the source of peace.
According to Statista, the global military spending for 2022 is 2.24 trillion US Dollars. According to World Bank data, military expenses consume more than 2% of the world's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Trillions of dollars is being spent for our protection and defense. But it could not purchase peace for us. Peace has become the most expensive commodity. How can we get peace? How much does it cost? Where can we get it? There are many unanswered questions.
What is Peace?
Before we dwell on the topic of Prince of Peace, let's understand the definition of peace from the perspective of the Bible. The Bible does not say the followers of Christ have complete insulation from all the sorrows. Instead, the Bible guarantees that God will guard our hearts with peace, even though we go through difficult situations. The Bible says, "The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:7 ESV. The world may not understand how we could lead a peaceful life despite all the difficult situations around us. It is the peace of God that will lead us. We will receive our peace from God. He is the source of peace.
Before we move forward, if you have lost peace in your life and searching for peaceful life, you can subscribe to our journey to peace journey. Jesus deeply cares for your future. He wants you to enjoy His peace.
Jesus is the source of Peace:
Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." - John 14:24 ESV
Jesus knew His disciples would face troubles on earth. He calmed the sea down when there was a storm. Jesus fed 5000 men with five loaves of bread and two fishes. He made Peter walk on water above the storm. They were at peace, when Jesus was with them. When He was about to leave the earth, He gave them a precious gift of peace. Jesus is the source of peace.
The world might show multiple ways to buy and earn peace. What is offered by Jesus is absolutely free. You can receive it today from where you are. He is the prince of peace.
The Bible says, "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." - Isaiah 9:6 ESV
Jesus said, "Peace Be with You":
Jesus repeated the words, "Peace be with you" three times in John 20:19,21,26. His disciples badly needed peace. They never expected crucifixion of Jesus. While they were still absorbing the shock, they came to know about His resurrection. The disciples were afraid of the high priests who crucified Jesus Christ. The disciples were under the culmination of shock, surprise, and fear. Jesus knew what His disciples needed most. It is His peace, that is going to guard their mind from everything that is going around them. That's why He repeated again and again the words of peace.
Many of our current situations may not be different from what Jesus's disciples have gone through. Even today many have a peaceless heart because of debt, broken relationships, depression, fear, and anxiety. Jesus wants to mend every broken heart today. Shall we invite the prince of peace in our life?
